Once upon a time,

In a hole above the ground in the high mountains Alps, there lives a young student, called Elisabeth. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole: it is a little cosy hobbit hole in the centre of Austria, in Graz. This should be the beginning of the story of how a hobbit goes on an adventure and will find herself in doing things in an unknown land, far away from home.

Whilst all the other hobbits around her love their unadventurous, bucolic and simple life, this female hobbit, who studies medicine, dreamed big and wanted to go abroad and push the boundaries in a land of her dreams that is as far away as possible: New Zealand. In the institution of her choice, the University of Auckland, everything seems possible: jumping off the edge of towers and take off to fly, explore wild unknown nature or even try the very foreign sport Rugby.

Whilst all the other hobbits around her love their unadventurous, bucolic and simple life, this female hobbit, who studies medicine, dreamed big and wanted to go abroad and push the boundaries in a land of her dreams that is as far away as possible: New Zealand. Or like Bilbo would say: “I am old, Gandalf. I know I don’t look it, but I’m beginning to feel it in my heart: (…) like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.” – just like Bilbo she wants like to reach for the stars, seek new horizons and find her very own treasure from the dragon Smaug which would make her live happily ever after.
